You Ask - I Answer

FAQ: FAQ

I want to schedule, but I really hate phone calls. Can I text you?

Yes! 724.201.9815!

How long is a therapy session?

A therapy session is approximately 50 minutes.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes!  We offer virtual sessions to clients located in Pennsylvania. You can choose between virtual and in-person sessions and can even switch between the two as your schedule allows, if desired!

  • Where are you located?
We are located at One Northgate Square (Suite 117) in Greensburg, PA. The building is located off of North Main street - the building is across the street from the First National Bank & Shop 'N Save on North Main street, and right beside Redstone Highlands. We have a clickable graphic on our homepage that will take you directly to Google maps for directions.
  • Can I choose which therapist I see?
Typically, yes! If you have a preference, and that therapist has availability, we will match you with that therapist. Most clients do not express a preference; in which we will ask you some questions and match you with the therapist who specializes in what you are struggling with.
  • I saw you have a therapist who is a Marriage & Family Therapist. Can I see him as an individual?
💯 Absolutely! You don't have to attend therapy with a partner. Marriage and family therapy means I was trained to look at issues more systemically; paying attention to how different parts of your life can be impacting whatever it is you are struggling with.
  • Do you do virtual or in-person sessions?
We offer in-person, virtual, and hybrid options. This maximizes flexibility for our clients.
  • Is Virtual therapy effective?
While there can be drawbacks to virtual therapy (hello, tech issues!), there is evidence to suggest that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy.. There is evidence to suggest better attendance for virtual appointments, likely due to the convenience of virtual appointments. In-person therapy may be better for those concerned about privacy of their location, and those experiencing a severe mental health crisis, such as schizophrenia or paranoia, and of course those who enjoy the intimacy and non-verbal communication of an in-person session. • Do you accept insurance?
Yes! We accept most major commercial plans, including Highmark, UPMC, and Aetna. Please note, we cannot accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time. Please see our "Insurance" page for more information!
  • How do I get started?
We have multiple options to get started. You can fill out our website form, email us at officemanager@caringconversationstherapy.com, or call or text us at 724.201.9815. We will be in touch and collect some basic information from you, information about your insurance, and ask some questions about what is bringing you into to therapy. You will have the opportunity to ask us questions, too.
  • I'm really nervous to get started!
That is SUPER common! It's so hard to be vulnerable with someone and open up about your struggles. Taking these first steps is incredibly brave!
  • What happens in the intake?
Intake sessions are "session 0". We usually say that intakes are the least helpful, but are so important because they give us vital information about you, your past, and your goals.
  • My last therapist wasn't a good fit. How do I know you will be?
Finding a therapist that is a good fit is essential to the therapeutic process. We offer a free, no obligation, 15 minute phone consultation. You'll be able to ask any questions that you have and speak about what you're struggling with. There is no pressure to choose our practice, but if you do, we will match you with a therapist and schedule your intake appointment. If you feel like we aren't a good fit for any reason, we have several connections and referral sources in the community that we can refer you to. Please just ask!
