Meet Our Team!

a male therapist looks with empathy and understanding

Sean K. Borris, LMFT
Therapist & Owner

Sean is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly a decade of experience. Sean's therapeutic work is motivated by his core belief that all people are able to create change in their lives. Sean works with individuals over age 14, college students, couples, and families. Sean has extensive experience in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting struggles, marital issues, addiction, life transitions, and general stressors. Sean holds post-licensure certification in treating trauma.

Sean's approach to therapy is based in general systems theory - an approach to therapy that treats the individual as a whole. Therapy, to Sean, is about revisiting experiences and discovering new ways of coping. You won't find him asking "how do you feel about that" upteen times! A typical session with Sean is a client-led processing experience. You'll check in on the events since the previous session, decide what the goal of the session should be, and discuss various ways to work through problems or challenges.

For fun, Sean enjoys fencing, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and making ice cream.

Charlene DeRito, LPC
Therapist

Hi, I'm Charlene, a dedicated therapist who believes in the power of creativity to foster healing. In our sessions, I often incorporate art, music, games, and other therapeutic tools to create a dynamic and engaging environment tailored to each client's unique needs.

My approach is eclectic and client-centered, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I work with individuals aged 5 and up, specializing in areas such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, couples counseling, and custody concerns.

A typical session with me begins by meeting you where you are in the present moment. We'll start with a check-in and then delve into the concerns you wish to address. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, supported, and with a sense of relief.

My passion for helping others was ignited in childhood, inspired by a therapist who made a significant impact on my life. This led me to pursue a career in counseling, where I've been privileged to support clients in various capacities for over a decade. Looking ahead, I aspire to integrate a trained therapy dog into my practice to further enhance the therapeutic experience.

If you're ready to embark on a journey toward healing and growth, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Reach out today!
