It's (at the time of drafting this blog), 11 degrees with a wind chill of -3. It's cold. It's dark. Date night is likely the last thing on your mind. Your relationship is still important though, and it can be fun to theme your date nights to match the season. Here are 25 ideas to try this winter, many of which don't require a babysitter.

  1. Build a snowman (who says this is just for kids?)

  2. Grab some hot chocolate and drive around looking at Christmas lights

  3. Speaking of hot chocolate ... spend some time setting up a hot cocoa bar and creating your own signature drinks

  4. Write down your goals for the year and discuss

  5. Have a snowball fight (one of the most fun memories my husband and I have together is having a spontaneous snowball fight one day. I totally won, btw.)

  6. Grab a cookbook and make a new recipe together

  7. Netflix & Chill

  8. Plan out a house project together

  9. Go ice skating

  10. YouTube ballroom dance lessons after the kids go to sleep

  11. Binge watch a show together (oh hey Stranger Things)

  12. Go ice fishing

  13. Learn how to build a fire

  14. Pick a book to read together. A book club for two ;)

  15. Hit up a museum

  16. Snuggle under blankets together

  17. Get some takeout and watch a movie

  18. Go for a winter hike

  19. Go bowling!

  20. Sled ride

  21. Have a game night

  22. Make fondue or charcuterie

  23. Visit a comedy club

  24. Sample wines (at a winery or warm and cozy inside)

  25. Plan a trip together - even if it's just to dream together

I'd love to hear what other ideas you have!
